Based in the US, this VPN exposes you as much as it makes you anonymous. While Safer Web supports a wide array of protocols and 256-bit encryption, it also keeps user logs (including your IP address) and other sensitive info.
So, while you may be shielded from outside snoopers and other troublesome individuals, the risk of Safer Web handing over your stuff to higher powers is definitely there — and since they’re subject to gag orders, you may not even get to hear about it.

Safer Web offers a traditional user experience for a VPN in its price range — meaning you’ll rejoice if you’re on Windows but you’ll have trouble on other platforms.
Even then, Windows users may not appreciate the custom client. It’s been known to suffer from connectivity/uptime issues in the past, and while Safer Web has made great strides in optimizing the app, there still is room for improvement. Our major gripe is the registry clogs — they’re a pain to remove, but we shouldn’t be experiencing them in the first place.
