RusVPN is a fairly standard VPN service offering everything you’d expect it to. Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. While RusVPN does offer users some unique and well-designed features, it’s initial setup can be intimidating, particularly for those new to VPNs.
In order to install RusVPN on your computer, you must follow the links to download Tunnelblick and then download each individual OpenVPN configuration file. This process is much longer and more complicated than strictly necessary which is why we can’t recommend RusVPN if you’re looking for a no-fuss option.
However, one big advantage to RusVPN is that you’re able to connect an unlimited number of devices with their service so you can keep yourself protected on all fronts. This is a feature most providers limit, so it comes as a breath of fresh air.
