NVPN Review 2024: Before You Buy, Is It Worth It?

NVPN Overview

While NVPN is a decent VPN, you can get better quality VPNs at an affordable price. Surfshark, for example, offers premium VPN features for a super low monthly fee — so you don’t have to settle for less.

nVpn.net guarantees online anonymity and privacy through a wide number of protocols. The safest of these is OpenVPN and they also have L2TP/IPSec.

While the default encryption level is a 256-bit AES-CBC with SHA 512, users can also opt for 128-bit Blowfish CBC with SHA. The VPN provider also offers Squid and SOCK S5 proxy services for when download speeds are more important than privacy.

One thing to note is that nVpn.net has shared, dedicated, and dynamic IP plans depending on your needs and preferences. nVpn.net also has an impressive network of servers in 45 countries and offers unmetered bandwidth and no speed throttling.

Additionally, their anti-port clash feature ensures a seamless browsing experience. But there’s only a single server switch allowed, which is pretty unreasonable. Most VPN service providers offer unlimited switching. Plus, there’s only a 3-day refund policy, which can be inconvenient.

Although they possess anti-deep pocket inspection technology, which is particularly beneficial for countries with strict firewalls such as Iran, they do not provide a complimentary trial.

Unlike many other service providers, they are exceedingly strict about the conditions under which refund is granted. They will only return your money if technical issues or glitches can be demonstrated in their service. So there’s no guarantee you’ll get your money back if you don’t like their services.

Why Most Speed Tests are Pointless & How We Correctly Test VPN Speeds

Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. Having said that, we tested the speed in numerous locations to provide you with the average.

User Experience

- 8.5 / 10

Once you make the payment, you can configure the VPN on your system. There are no dedicated apps. You can use the OpenVPN app to configure nVPN.net on your device.

The installation will take about 5 minutes. There are helpful videos for setup. Once the VPN has been set up, it’s easy to use and you can connect using the OpenVPN app. It will take just a few seconds to be connected and the speeds are decent.

Before you make a final decision, we highly recommend you check out some alternative VPNs which may offer better features and prices.

How We Test Customer Support and Why Should You Care

We personally test the customer support team of every VPN we review. This means asking technical question through the live chat feature (where applicable) and measuring the response time for email questions. Whether you need to connect to a specific server, change your security protocol, or configure a VPN on your router, finding a VPN with quality customer support should be important to you.
