ALTVPN used to be called ColanderVPN and is a Ukraine-based VPN provider that are completely committed to providing their users with privacy and anonymity online thanks to their strict zero logs policy and robust encryption standards. Additionally, this VPN has the ability to bypass blocks from streaming services and the Great Firewall of China, which is quite something.
This VPN is available to users around the world, but they focus more on providing Eastern Europeans citizens with a service that allows them to easily unblock and bypass any restrictions imposed in the post-Soviet states. The site has also been translated into Finnish and Polish, allowing neighboring countries, including Finland and Poland, to benefit from the VPN too.
ALTVPN is based in a jurisdiction that allows them to offer a zero logs policy – a massive advantage over many other VPNs in the market. Your session logs, DNS queries, and IP address (and any other personal data) will not be stored. They have standard PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN protocols which promise optimal security.
All of your data is securely encrypted using 2048-bit encryption, allowing you to browse online completely anonymously. This VPN takes bypassing censorship very seriously and offers excellent features that allow users to access any content they want while also avoiding outsiders hacking or snooping through your data. You can use this VPN on 3 devices simultaneously on one account, which is not as many as some others, but is suitable for home use.
Although their server network is currently limited in terms of locations, it continues to expand, and their servers are highly dependable. ALTVPN has not yet created a custom app or any proprietary software, which means it does take a bit of time to install and configure – around 15 minutes, but they do give simple and clear instructions on getting the VPN working on your device. You can connect using the L2TP, OpenVPN, or PPTP protocols. You can pick a server from the location options and connect to it with ease. Some users have reported issues with payment, but the support team was quick to respond and resolve the issue.
