ZPN VPN Review 2025: Before You Buy, Is It Worth It?
ZPN VPN Overview
“2025 UPDATE! Unfortunately ZPN VPN is no longer available. Why not check out our list of the best VPNs in 2025 or find out more about our top recommendation, ExpressVPN.”
Editor's Note: Transparency is one of our core values at WizCase, so you should know we are in the same ownership group as ExpressVPN. However, this does not affect our review process, as we adhere to a strict testing methodology.
If you’re in a hurry, here’s the bottom line — You can get more servers globally, better VPN features, and 24/7 customer support with Surfshark for the same price or less. So why bother reading on?!
Operating out of a rather curious location — the UAE — ZPN quickly dispels any security concerns with a crystal-clear privacy policy and impressive performance.
While bandwidth logs are kept for the free version (yes, it has one), Premium ZPN users are free of any logging whatsoever. Coupled with the excellent (and highly customizable) encryption options, this makes ZPN a trustworthy VPN service, as far as your privacy and anonymity are concerned.
But how does ZPN fare when it comes to speed, servers, and accessibility? Very well — you have over 35 locations to choose from, totaling over 926+ available servers. Connections are fast across the board, which comes in handy if you’re a Premium user looking for some P2P action. Unblocking is also stellar, with streaming services like Netflix and Hulu at your fingertips.
There are some rough edges. Namely, live chat support isn’t available. Moreover, ZPN’s free version is a bit too stripped, so if you were looking to make some tests that way, you’ll find that most of this VPN’s strong sides are locked behind a Premium subscription.
The good news is that there is a one-week refund window. While not a substitute for a trial, it allows you to check ZPN out in all its glory and get your money back if it’s not your thing.
Speed - 7.2 / 10
Why Most Speed Tests are Pointless & How We Correctly Test VPN Speeds
Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. Having said that, we tested the speed in numerous locations to provide you with the average.
Servers - 7.8 / 10
ZPN has 926 servers in over 37 countries for Premium users. The free version is limited to a quarter of the total locations.

User Experience - 8.4 / 10
ZPN does a good job at helping the user out as much as possible. In addition to custom clients available for Windows, Android, and iOS, there are multiple tutorials for manual setups on a variety of platforms, including OS X and Linux.
At first glance, ZPN’s own client is neatly organized and very easy to understand. This is the same across all three operating systems, and the interface is almost identical between Windows and mobile.
The visual guides and detailed instructions are concise, containing all the necessary information for a smooth configuration. And if you encounter an issue, ZPN’s knowledgeable support is just a ticket away!

How We Test Customer Support and Why Should You Care
We personally test the customer support team of every VPN we review. This means asking technical question through the live chat feature (where applicable) and measuring the response time for email questions. Whether you need to connect to a specific server, change your security protocol, or configure a VPN on your router, finding a VPN with quality customer support should be important to you.
Editor's Note: We value our relationship with our readers, and we strive to earn your trust through transparency and integrity. We are in the same ownership group as some of the industry-leading products reviewed on this site: ExpressVPN, Cyberghost, Private Internet Access, and Intego. However, this does not affect our review process, as we adhere to a strict testing methodology.
