UnoTelly VPN Review 2024: Before You Buy, Is It Worth It?
UnoTelly VPN Overview
“2024 UPDATE! Unfortunately UnoTelly VPN is no longer available. Why not check out our list of the best VPNs in 2024 or find out more about our top recommendation, ExpressVPN.”
Editor's Note: Transparency is one of our core values at WizCase, so you should know we are in the same ownership group as ExpressVPN. However, this does not affect our review process, as we adhere to a strict testing methodology.
UnoTelly is a general DNS and VPN service that focuses on privacy protection and helping users bypass censorship and geo-blocks worldwide. If you need to protect yourself from throttling by your ISP or simply want to block ads and malware efficiently, UnoTelly offers this service at no added cost. Unotelly also has a 24/7 customer support that typically respond within 4-24 hours.
With a service that’s priced higher than top VPNs such as ExpressVPN and CyberGhost, UnoTelly has some drawbacks that users should be wary of. It strictly prohibits torrenting so if you’re interested in any P2P activities, this VPN isn’t for you. UnoTelly also has no desktop/mobile apps and requires all users to manually configure their DNS and IP settings in order to integrate the VPN into their devices. Read on to see whether this VPN suits your needs or not.
Speed
- 7.6 / 10Why Most Speed Tests are Pointless & How We Correctly Test VPN Speeds
Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. Having said that, we tested the speed in numerous locations to provide you with the average.

User Experience
- 8.4 / 10It’s quite easy and straightforward to use UnoTelly. The fact that it offers multiple VPN protocols including OpenVPN and PPTP means your connection will be secure. Since it offers no dedicated software or app, you’ll need to either use the OpenVPN software that comes with DNS protection or manually configure your DNS settings on your device. The problem with this is that the OpenVPN software or app does not offer a kill switch functionality or stealth mode option that comes as standard with other premium VPN services.
UnoTelly, however, provides very detailed tutorials on their website regarding how to setup the service on various platforms. In addition, they offer a 24/7 support and although the live chat option is hardly ever live, they usually respond to enquiries within a few hours. UnoTelly is a good VPN if you’re not looking to stream Netflix or torrent and do not mind the partial logs they keep.
Before you make a final decision, we highly recommend you check out some alternative VPNs which may offer better features and prices.
Support
- 8.4 / 10How We Test Customer Support and Why Should You Care
We personally test the customer support team of every VPN we review. This means asking technical question through the live chat feature (where applicable) and measuring the response time for email questions. Whether you need to connect to a specific server, change your security protocol, or configure a VPN on your router, finding a VPN with quality customer support should be important to you.
