In a Rush? Here are the Quick Facts!

  • Nintendo opened applications for a test related to a new secret feature for Nintendo Switch Online this Thursday
  • 10,000 fast players got a spot, and the limit of participants was reached within just a few minutes.
  • The video game company also launched a new alarm clock called Alarmo

Nintendo opened this Thursday applications for players interested in testing a new secret feature coming to Nintendo Switch Online.

“We will recruit people to participate in this test from customers who have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership,” states the information published on the website.

The company didn’t provide details on what the feature is about, only that participants must have Nintendo Accounts registered in The United States of America, The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, or Japan—those in Asia will be selected via raffle and players from other countries on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The video game company clarified that the limit for the testing will be 10,000 participants and, according to recent posts on social media, the limit has already been reached.

“Nintendo Play test applications opened and closed within 5 seconds. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined,” wrote one user on X. Others celebrated they got in.

Nintendo also launched yesterday an interactive alarm clock called “Alarmo” with sound effects adapted to body movements and music from video games.

“Wake up! Nintendo Sound Clock: #Alarmo is available for early access for Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada!” wrote Nintendo America on X. “This interactive alarm clock lets you set a time and select from 35 scenes from across 5 Nintendo titles. More titles to be added later!”

Nintendo announced the official opening of its museum in Kyoto a few days ago.
